A Photographers Story: Bob Jackson and the Kennedy Assassination
On Friday, November 22, 1963, newspaper photographer Bob Jackson was assigned to photograph President John F. Kennedys visit to Dallas for The Dallas Times Herald. Learn how this young photographer came to cover one of the largest, most tumultuous news events of the twentieth century, and discover the back story on how he took the Pulitzer Prize-winning image of Lee Harvey Oswald being shot by Jack Ruby that weekend. Jacksons career is the focus of a new exhibition on view The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza through July 2010.
