We the People Regional Institute

This institute is a three-day professional development program on the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights. Participants take part in lectures and discussions on constitutional themes pertinent to the curriculum content, classroom strategies, and performance assessments that are used in Texas schools. An essential component of the institute is teacher preparation and participation in a simulated congressional hearing. The goal of the institute is for each participant to leave with a solid grasp of the We the People program framework and how to conduct a mock congressional hearing for the classroom and or the competition model. Experienced teacher-mentors assist participants in discussing the challenges of teaching civic education and preparing for the simulated hearing. Registration Fee: $25 - Payable by check or credit card to Law-Focused Education. A form will be emailed to you so that payment can be sent to LFE prior to training.
