Setting Standards for Gifted and Talented Students is Module 5 of the 30 hr. gifted endorsement training.

This is a monthly meeting of the Speech Pathologist Association Near Dallas (SPAND), and presenters will be available for each meeting. Please refer to the SPAND website (http://www.spandspeech.com) for more information on the speakers. Prior registration is NOT required for these workshops and walk-ins are welcome.

Class includes standards for this field. Content, competencies, and practice test questions will be reviewed. Due to safety concerns, children are not permitted at study sessions.

Designing Curriculum for Gifted and Talented students is Module 4 of the 30 hr. gifted endorsement training. Groups will be arranged in elementary and secondary groupings. Please dress according to your districts dress code policy. THIS EVENT IS FULL. PARTICIPANTS WILL BE MOVED FROM THE WAITLIST AND NOTIFIED AS CANCELLATIONS OCCUR.

Curriculum for Tolerance/Genocide/Holocaust Education for Grades K - 5 - Elementary Level lesson plans containing 5 lessons have been created to encourage tolerance, the acceptance of differences, and respect for all people. These activities and materials have been chosen to help the students in grades K - 5 be enriched by their pluralistic community instead of feeling threatened by them or prejudiced toward them. This unit will help K - 5 students avoid behaviors that apply to the Eight Stages of Genocide. The primary grades will focus on tolerance, while grade 5 (and possibly grade 4) will address some appropriate themes of the Holocaust.
