Mathematical Models with Appliation TEKS require both a high and continuous cognitive demand to provide growth in students abilities to apply mathematics to real issues they will encounter in their jobs and lives. While reviewing Algebra I and Geometry in this 10-day staff development session, the participant will learn how to use mathematical modeling. Materials from UT Dana Center, CORD, COMAP, Concord Consortium will be incorporated. Fee: This workshop is available only for public school districts and charter schools who are members of the Region 10 Cooperative Services. There is no additional fee. Please confirm coorperative membership with your district before registering. Prerequisite: This workshop is intended for currently employed teachers in Regin 10. Out-oregion teachers or teachers not currently employed may attend for a $50 fee.

Presented by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, this two and one-half day professional development forum for teachers, specifically designed for secondary educators who teach about the Holocaust, will include experts, researchers, and authors who will explore the content, methodologies, and rationales for teaching the history of the Holocaust. Teachers must attend all 3 days to receive credit!
